In this book there are a lot of characters. The main
characters are Raphael, Gardo and Jun-Jun (Rat). They all work and live in
Behala. They work every day collecting rubbish at the dumpsite. Between them,
there is only one person that can read which is Gardo. When they found the
package in the locker, Gardo helped them by reading it to them. Raphael lives
with his aunt and Gardo lives with his uncle but, Rat lives alone because he doesn’t
have any relatives or family. Rat lives in a small house with a lot of mice. In this book, I really
like Rat because even though he is really poor and lives in a small house
without any family but, he’s strong and hardworking. He also knows how to save
money for his future. In the end, of this book, after they accomplished the
mission, Rat shared the money with Gardo and Raphael to go to a place where
they can lives happily together.

Multiple Perspectives
In this book there are a lot of perspectives from the
characters. Hearing multiple perspectives make the reader know more about the
character. In this trash
book, the author made each chapter with different character tell the story and
each of them has different perspectives about what’s going on. It also makes
the reader felt excited and wants to know about the characters perspectives. I
believed that the author made it because he wanted to create suspense and make
the reader understand about the characters. It is really interesting to know
that different people have different perspectives and it’s a good way that the
author can creates excitement and advances the mystery. It makes the reader
wants to know what will happen next? What would they feel? How are they going
to solve it?

Author Create Suspense
One way the author creates suspense is character working against deadline. In this book, there three boys who are working on a mystery and they got a lot of clues. Sometimes, it can be dangerous for them example like, the for the first clue, they need to go to the train station to get the package in the locker. This is dangerous for dump site kids, because they are really poor no one can trust them and there are many police corruption. Another example of it is, when Raphael, Gardo and Rat were scared if the police caught them. This shows that the author create suspense to the reader by showing how does the boys felt and make the reader start to ask question like what will happen next? Will they get caught? And etc. Futhermore, when Raphael lied to the police about Jose Angelico and the bag that he found. The author create suspense to the reader by saying that they lied about it and make the reader think, why should he lie? Why?
Another way the author create suspense is reader knows more than the characters. For example when Gardo lied to Sister Olivia about he wants to meet his grandfather at the Colva Prison. This shows that the author creates suspense to the reader because we know that he wants to meet Gabriel Olondriz not his, grandfather. Moreover, Gardo, Rat and Raphael doesn't know that Pia Dante is dead. This shows that the author created suspense because the reader knows that she's dead. In addition, when the police doesn't know who has the bag. The author creates suspense to the reader because we know who go the bag and where it is.
Futhermore, the author create suspense is using sensory details to create an air of mystery. Example like, the smell and sight at the Colva Prison. The author creates suspense because we know that the sight and the smell of the prison is really bad because Sister Olivia said in the book. Another example is the smell of Rat house. This creates suspense because Raphael said, Rat's house is like a small hole and there were many rats everywhere. In addition, when they heard the police's siren. The author creates suspense because after they heard the siren they felt scared and at the same time they tried to think whether they should run or not. This made the reader thinks what will happen next? What If the police caught them?
Lastly, the way the author creates suspense is conflict. For example is when Raphael at the police station with the police try to find something about the bag. The author creates suspense to the reader because they are conflict, argument, and toturing between them but, Raphael didn't tell them because he tried to protect Jose Angelico. Moreover, is when Raphael and his family were arguing about the bag. The author creates suspense by making a conflict between Raphael and his family and the reader know about the bag and the reason why he lied. The last example is when Gardo and Sister Olivia were in the prison with Gabriel Olondriz. The author creates suspense to the readers because the reader know that Gardo went there to know more about Jose Angelico, not to see his grandfather. There was a conflict and argument between them.
In conclusion, there are many ways authors can creates suspense to the readers. Example as, character working against deadline, reader knows more than the characters, using sensory detail to create an air to the mystery, conflict and many more. The more way the author creates suspense, the more interesting the book will be! ;)

Is it okay to lie?
Sometime it's good to lie and sometimes it's bad. In this
book, we discovered some good and bad lies. The good lies are when Raphael
said, "Sometimes, sir! Sometimes, ma’am!", "What I really mean
is no, never because what we mainly find is stupp" (page 4). Another
example is when Raphael said, “You don’t want to draw attention to yourself, or
you can lose what you find" (page 9). They don’t tell anyone about the bag
because if they tell anyone, they will lose it. The next example is when, Gardo
said, "My grandfather in prison, ma’am, and i want to go and see
him"(page 80). He is lying to Sister Olivia to meet Gabriel Olondriz
because if not no one will take him there. The last example of good lying is
when Father Julliard said, “It’s hard to keep the children attending class, and
we have to bribe them with food (page 47). Father Juilliard is making the kids
attend class by lying to them that they will get food if they do. The bad lies
happened when, Gardo said, "This is very dangerous now, for you also. He
could betray us" (page133). Gabriel Olondriz gave his bible to a security
guard, Marco but, after he passed away Marco disappeared and he didn't give the
bible to them. Another example is when, Gabriel Olondriz said,“The reason I am in this jail
is that I brought corruption charges against senator Zapanta,” (page 101),This
means that, Gabriel Olondriz doesn't do
anything but, Senator Zapanta lied to
the police and they arrested Gabriel Olondriz. The next example is when, making
Sister Olivia pay to see Gabriel Olondriz. This is bad because it related with
police corruption which between the police and Sister Olivia. The last example
is when; Father Julliard said "Some of our children are the best liars in
the world" (page 84). This can be good and bad lie, they lie because they
wants to survive and it's bad because sometimes it could be dangerous for them
and sometimes it can be bigger problem. In conclusion, there are many ways of lie;
sometimes it good, sometimes is bad and sometimes it can be white lies. White lies
mean we’re lie to make other people feel good and it doesn’t really have a big
impact on us. It can be good because most of them lying to survive. It can be
bad if they lying to others and has big impact on it like, police corruption
and etc.

First day of fundraising
It went really well and it's really fun. The good things about today is, we had a lot of customers and we bought a lot of stuff for the stall. All of us help each other and we got a lot of money (Rp. 500,000). The weaknesses is it was a bit messy, unorganized, a few of out team members didn't show up and we're lack of korean noodles. If we'll do this again, we will prepare our stall earlier, be more organize and work faster. The threats are some of the people were interrupting us, bargaining and some of them were complaining. I hope we will do better tomorrow.

Economic Hit Men
There is a cooperation in this world that, controls everything. They identify countries that has a lot of resources and try to get it. The world bank loan the countries money and the countries need to pay the debt. They also make a contract to make sure that they get their money back. and the resources of the country. If the country doesn't pay the debt they will tell the government to follow everything they said example shut down the school, give them natural resources, give them to built a military based in the countries. All these thing affect the people in the countries. The taxes of the county will be increasing and if it increasing, there will be more poor people. The people will die or get sickness if the countries doesn't have any water supplies and resources.
Where does poverty come from? Why are people poor?
Poverty came from the government and the situation of an area. Government programs come and go as political parties. The only effect seems to be who gets elected. If anything happen, the problems get worse, and people feel increasingly helpless and frustrated. In addition, the leaders (governments)
of the countries or place, they are irresponsible. They just care about rich people and forgets about poor people. Moreover, the prices of the daily needs are increasing and the poor people doesn't have money to buy it. So, they started protesting for money increases.

TRASH (PART 1)
Trash is a book written by Andy
Mulligan. It is a story about 3 boys named Raphael, Rat and Gardo. The story is set in a dumpsite in Asia. The story begun when Raphael found a bag while he working
at the dumpsite. Inside the bag there was the map of the city, a key, old
paper, 1100 peso, ID card of Jose Angelico and a picture of a girl.
It continued when, the police officers
came to the dumpsite to find the lost bag. The community was shocked and
nervous because they were scared of the police officers. The police officers
explained to them what happened. They said they will give them money if they
help them to find the bag. After that, Raphael’s Aunty speaks up. She said that
Raphael found something. The police officers quickly stared at him and asked
what did he found? He doesn’t trust the police officers at all so; he said that
he found a shoe at the dumpsite. The police officers were curious and one of
them go near Raphael and asked for help. He said if Raphael helps him, he will
give him some money. Suddenly, Gardo came with a cute face saying that he wants
to help.
The next day, Raphael and Gardo went to
see Rat to ask about the key. Rat said it’s a locker key at the train station.
So, they decided to go to the station together. They went there with all eyes
on them. People think it weird because why does a dumpsite kids went to the
station? Raphael, Gardo and Rat were scared because they don’t want to get
caught by anyone especially the police. In the town that they lived there is a
prison and they take kids quicker than they take men. They walked calmly to the
locker even thought, they were really scared. When they arrived at the locker,
they quickly open the locker and took a package with an address for Gabriel
Olondriz. Furthermore, there was a code with a lot of number. Then, a lot of
question came out like, why is he in the prison? Who is he? What does the
letter say? What is the code for?
This part has two themes which is
Police Corruption and Dangers of Poverty. Firstly, an example of police corruption
is when Raphael said “you see them touching you? He’s got you fixed” (page 17).
This mean the police are aiming on Raphael to help or he knows that Raphael knows
about the bag. Another example is when Raphael said “Everyone knows that not to
trust to far”(page12). This means that Raphael doesn’t believed the police.
The example of Dangers and Poverty is
when Raphael said “If you can’t got inside the right truck, it would be
dangerous”(page7). This means that it is dangerous to work at the dumpsite. Another
example is when Raphael said “You’re working under trash as it’s raining down
and the guard trying to get you away” (page 7). This means that it is really
hard to work at dumpsite and you can get sickness.
In conclusion, this part of the book is
really interesting. It has a lot of moral stories and this shows you how people
lives in the dumpsite area with small
amount of food, water, clothes and clothes but they still can survive.
What gave Raphael the strength to lie to the police?
I believe that he got his strength from Jose Angelico. He knows a lot about Jose Angelico now. He doesn't want all his hard working with Gardo and Rat become a waste. Besides he lie to them to protect Jose Angelico, his family and his friends. He wanted to help Jose Angelico and he doesn't want anyone to get in trouble.
